MULTIMEDIA - More than one medium used to create a piece of art. MONOTYPE - Production of one print. Usually it is an image painted on plexiglass or a piece of prepared flat surface, that is rolled through a press to transfer the image, typically on acid free print paper, and usually numbered 1/1, meaning one print. I use the monotype method to create my prints or print/painting. I use a relief black relief printer’s ink or oil paints, and process as stated above. The pieces labeled multimedia/monotype refers to the process of adding over the top of the monotype with oil paint, pen, or watercolor medium. I enjoy painting people, landscapes, town/cityscapes, and water scenes. I do like to record history, in reference to places I have been and people I have seen. I also create watercolor, acrylic ink, acrylic and oil paintings, and have dabbled in photography, stone and clay sculpting, weaving, metal jewelry design and pottery. “By honoring the partnership I enter into with the medium, life is allowed to present itself” |
